10th Annual Pond Tour June
2 & 3, 2001 |

One of the things that our club is known for and one thing that
we take great pride in, is the annual pond tour. Our other two public events, the
Young Fish Show in the Spring and the Koi Show in November are all about the fish, but the
pond tour is about everything else in our hobby. Every member's pond is unique,
expressing the taste and individuality of the person who designed and built the pond and
landscape surrounding it. Large or small, complex or simple, just built or caked
with years of algae, each pond inspires the visitor and delights the owner. We
invite you to enjoy a trip through our back yards.

|
Lets start with the
pond of Bob & Peggy Morris. A English garden setting with a Japanese courtyard
and hummingbird/butterfly garden. The pond is about 6,500 gal. with 30 koi calling
it home. |
| Fred and Teresa Leib are
rightly proud of their 4500 gal covered pond with 1200 gal. side pond. Residentence of 50
koi, many of whom are show champions. |
 |

|
Runner up for pond
of the year, Chuck and Betty Muehe's 4000 gal treasure it a jewel in their back yard. |

|
| Second Runner up
for pond of the year, Carl and Andrea Brewer glory in their new 2200 gal pond with
waterfall. |

The pond of Chris & Mary Robinson is a liner pond of
2,500 gal with water fall. Chris (16 yrs. old) built the pond and keeps the garden
surrounding it. A mix of koi, goldfish and algae eaters glide happily through the
water. |

|
| Betty Lucher has two sets of
ponds. A 2,000 gal. fiberglass pond on the left and several connected ponds to the
right. There are 20 koi in the large pond and 20 smaller fish in the preformed
connections. Betty finishes off her ponds with attractive decorative plants. |
 |
Pat and Joann
Rutherford's 2200 gal above the ground pond made from rail road ties and dressed with
stucko makes a yard feature that cannot be beat. |

|
Jan Brown's pair of ponds,
7,000 gal main, and 600 gal goldfish ponds are surrounded by a natural Florida
environment. She says her fish are so busy she cannot count them. |
This brings an end to the pond tour for this year. if you are in the
Jacksonville Fl. area in June. We would love to have you make your own circuit
around the ponds of the North Florida Koi Club.
